Sixth Street Bridge Presentation
The consulting and engineering firm of PBS&J and Atkins Company presented 7 potential sites to reuse the twin, Steel Warren truss bridges. In September of 2011 the 6th Street Bridge is being replaced by Georgia Department of Transportation with a new bridge.

In May 2016, the City of Griffin and Spalding County Government contracted with RS&H Consulting Group to update the long-range comprehensive transportation plan for the community.

Experiment Street and Broad Street Intersection

Intersection Improvement and Signal Project was funded with SPLOST funds and FHWA monies and the construction cost of projects was 2.5 million dollars.

 

North Hill Street and North 6th Street


Project redirected traffic flow on N 6th Street on to Blanton Avenue and routed traffic to North Hill Street. Intersecting with Realty Street. A rain garden was constructed to improve water quality in the project area, The project was funded by SPLOST and construction cost was $350,000.

North Hill Street Roundabout

The Project was a joint effort with Spalding County Government. The project consisted of the construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Tuskegee Avenue and Northside Drive. At the same time the Spalding County Government replaced the Cabin Creek Culvert. The round about was funded through SPLOST and GTIB Grant, the construction cost of the roundabout was 2.0 million dollars.

Airport Road Intersection Improvemnt

Turn lanes were constructed on Airport Road and GA 155. Project was funded with SPLOST and GDOT monies totaling $546,000 dollars.

Various Intersection Improvement Phase I

Phase I of the CIty of GRiffin signal upgrades was completed. This project was fundede by ARRA funds and totaled $1.86 million dollars.
