The Uniform Patrol Division encompasses four shifts of officers that provide 24 hour law enforcement services to the citizens of Griffin. Through directed and preventive patrol, the Uniform Patrol Division seeks to deter street crime and burglaries. Uniform officer are the initial responders to a wide range of calls for services. They conduct preliminary criminal and traffic accident investigations; enforce criminal and traffic laws as well as ordinances enacted by the City of Griffin. Uniform Officers also assist citizens with medical and social problems through crisis intervention and or referrals to the appropriate state or county agency.

The Uniform Patrol Officers are responsible for other events such as holiday enforcement details, community and business presentations and managing school crossing guard assignments. The officers are engaged in a variety of problem solving initiatives and educational activities based on the department’s commitment to community policing. The division is under the Command of Captain Brian Jones.
