Disposal Information
The City of Griffin has two disposal facilities that residents can use for free with ID and City of Griffin Solid Waste bill. Please read the lists below to determine the best facility for your items. Each facilities page has their address, hours, prohibited items, and additional information.
Both facilities can be used by non-city residents and commercial users. Standard tipping rates and minimums apply. Please view each facilities page for an overview of their rates for non-residents and commercial users.
Regional Transfer Station / Recycling Center
Items that can be disposed of at the Transfer Station:
- Furniture
- Carpet and padding
- Mattresses
- Bulk recyclables like cardboard or type 1 and 2 plastics
- Recyclable metal, except appliances
- Metal auto parts except those filled with hazardous liquids
- Electronics Waste (old computers, TVs, etc.)

Shoal Creek Construction and Demolition Landfill
Items that can be disposed of at Shoal Creek landfill:
- Residential yard waste such as leaves, brush, grass clippings, tree branches, etc.
- Construction and Demolition Waste such as studs, drywall, brick, concrete, etc.
- Carpet and padding
